Although our school has a tuition fee structure, it is not meant o exclude anyone, but rather to help us run our school. Each year our Bursary committee reviews the applications from families and awards bursaries to those that qualify. Donations to our Bursary Fund help families access Catholic Education. Donations are tax deductible; you will receive a charitable receipt for the full amount of you donation.

As background,  like all funded independent schools in Manitoba, St. Alphonsus school receives approximately 50% of the per pupil grant received by public schools.  For the 2025-2026 school year, independent schools received funding based on public school net operating expenditures from the 2023-2024 school year. The Government of Manitoba determined the cost of public education for that year to be approximately $13,674.00 per student. Independent schools only received half this amount or $6,837.00 per student. As you will note, our tuition (just under $2900) does not make up the difference in this funding. Rather, our school manages a modest budget based on the grant from the Government of Manitoba and the tuition we receive from our families. We provide a high quality of education, while still maintaining affordability for our families. We appreciate that our families contribute to this process.
